Kristen Johnson Real Estate (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.kristenjohnsonrealestate.com, fill out one of our forms, respond to one of our ads, or work with us as a client, and what we do with it.

Kristen Johnson is a licensed Georgia real estate agent (License #385658) affiliated with Compass. Some of the information described here is handled by Compass as the brokerage of record, and Compass maintains its own privacy policy that applies to information held in brokerage systems.

Information you give us

We collect the information you choose to provide, which typically includes:

Your name, email address, and phone number
Your mailing or property address
Details about what you are looking for, such as neighborhoods, price range, timeline, number of bedrooms, or whether you are buying, selling, or both
Anything you write into a message or comment field
Information you share during a consultation, showing, or active transaction

You give us this information through:

The contact and “Schedule a Call” forms on our website
The market update email signup
Downloadable guides, including the Atlanta Relocation Guide, the First-Time Buyer Guide, and the Metro Atlanta Home Seller’s Guide
The Atlanta ADU rules and property screening tool
Home valuation requests
Lead forms attached to our ads on Facebook and Instagram
Email, text message, and phone calls

You are never required to give us this information. You can browse the site without filling out anything. But if you want us to send you a guide or call you back, we need a way to reach you.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, some information is collected automatically:

Your IP address and general location (city or region, not a street address)
Browser and device type
Which pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and what site or ad brought you here
Cookies and similar tracking technologies

We use the following services that collect this kind of information:

Kinsta, which hosts our website and provides visitor analytics
Google Analytics, which helps us understand which pages and neighborhood guides people actually read
The Meta pixel, which measures whether our Facebook and Instagram ads are working and allows us to show ads to people who have visited the site

You can turn off cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, including forms, may not work correctly if you do.

How we use your information

We use what we collect to:

Respond to your question, showing request, or valuation request
Send you the guide or market report you asked for
Follow up about your home search or sale
Send market updates and neighborhood information, if you signed up for them
Represent you in a transaction, including preparing offers, contracts, and disclosures
Coordinate with the lenders, inspectors, attorneys, and other professionals involved in your transaction

Meet our obligations under Georgia real estate law and Compass brokerage policy

How we share your information

We share your information only in these situations:

With Compass. As the brokerage of record, Compass receives and retains transaction information and client records as required by Georgia license law and company policy.

With our service providers. These are the tools that make the business run, including our customer relationship management system, our email marketing platform, Zapier (which routes form submissions to the right place), our transaction coordinator, and our scheduling software. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.

With transaction professionals, when you are a client. During an active transactio we share what is necessary with lenders, inspectors, appraisers, closing attorneys, title companies, and the agent on the other side of the deal. We share what the transaction requires, not more.

When the law requires it. Including in response to a subpoena, court order, or a legal or regulatory obligation.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never have. We also do not give your contact information to other agents, lead-buying companies, or third-party marketers.

One honest note about that: some state privacy laws define “sale” or “share” broadly enough to include the use of advertising cookies like the Meta pixel. We use that pixel for our own advertising, not to hand your information to anyone. If you would rather not be included, you can opt out using the cookie and ad settings described below.

Email and text messages

If you sign up for our market updates or fill out a form, we may email you. Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you are off the list. It takes effect right away.

If you give us your phone number, you are agreeing that we may call or text you about your inquiry, including at a number that may be on a do-not-call registry. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop the messages we need to send you about an active transaction. If we are under contract together, you will still hear from us about your deal.

Your choices and rights

Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to:

Tell you what personal information we hold about you
Correct anything that is wrong
Delete your information
Stop sending you marketing email or texts
Stop using your information for targeted advertising

Email info@kristenjohnsonrealestate.com with the request and we will handle it within 30 days. We may need to verify who you are first.

Two limits worth knowing. If you are or were a client, Georgia real estate law and Compass policy require us to keep transaction records for a set period, so we cannot delete those. And if you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list, because that is how we make sure we do not accidentally email you again.

For cookies and advertising specifically:

Adjust cookies in your browser settings
Manage Facebook and Instagram ad preferences in your Meta account settings
Opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Data security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and the platforms we rely on (Kinsta, Google, Compass systems) maintain their own security programs. No website or system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Please do not email us Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or full financial documents. When those are needed during a transaction, we will send you a secure way to deliver them.

Children

Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our site links out to property search on Compass, to MLS listings, to neighborhood and community resources, and to our social media profiles. Once you leave our site, the privacy policy of that other company applies. We do not control what they collect.

Fair housing

Kristen Johnson Real Estate follows federal, state, and local fair housing law. We do not use your personal information to steer you toward or away from any neighborhood, and we do not treat anyone differently based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business or the law changes. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be noted on this page.
